Nominating Committee
The nominating committee is responsible for selecting and nominating candidates for positions of leadership within MEA. This committee is typically composed of members in good standing and who have a good understanding of the organization's needs and values, and have the ability to identify and evaluate potential candidates. The process for selecting candidates typically involves soliciting nominations from members of MEA, conducting interviews or evaluations of potential candidates, and ultimately presenting a list of recommended candidates to the MEA Board. The nominating committee plays a critical role in ensuring that leadership positions are filled by individuals who possess the necessary skills, experience, and qualities to effectively serve the organization. They also help to ensure a fair and transparent selection process, as they are typically independent of the candidates and have a broader perspective on MEA's needs. In addition to selecting candidates, the nominating committee may also be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures related to the selection and nomination process. This may include establishing eligibility criteria for candidates, developing a timeline and schedule for the selection process, and documenting the committee's decisions and recommendations. If you are interested in joining the committee please contact staff@sfmea.com. We look forward to learning with and from you!
