Derek Hom is the Director of Probation Services for the San Francisco Juvenile Probation Department. He has over 30 years of experience working in the Juvenile Justice System. Derek has worked in different capacities at San Francisco Juvenile Probation as a Juvenile Hall Counselor & Deputy Probation Officer. He was promoted to leadership roles as a Supervisor & Senior Supervisor where he implemented the department’s core strategies for Probation youth entering California’s foster care system. He has created the department’s new state initiative of Child Family Team (CFT) program. He is a native San Franciscan who graduated from Lowell High School and received his BS degree at San Francisco State University. He is dedicated to serving the youth, families, and the communities of San Francisco County. Derek enjoys spending time with his wife and family, hiking national and state parks, and attending sport events, concerts, and dinners with his friends.
